Law School Hosts Judicial Institute for North Dakota Judges

Nearly forty North Dakota judges attended the Judicial Institute training session held at the UND School of Law from May 21 - 24, 2007.

This special training session is held every two years and features unique training sessions in topical areas.

This year’s schedule included a training session on DNA. During this session, the judges we able to test their own DNA and learn about forensic and medical tests.

Stem Cell biology, cancer, and the ABC’s of Enroronmental Technology and Bioremediation were the highlights of the second day.

They heard from Dr. Anana Salter of Madison Wisconsin about the assessment of sexual offenders.

The final day was highlighted with a discussion about brain function and a look at a human brain. The presentation was by Dr. Patrick Konewko, a neuropsychologist in the Meritcare Health Systems in Fargo.
