More UND School of Law Judicial Appointments
UND School of Law has a strong tradition of its graduates serving as state and federal judges. Three more UND Law graduates were recently appointed to state district court judgeships in Minnesota and North Dakota.

Todd L. Cresap
Class of 1986
Todd Cresap, an attorney in Minot, has been appointed by Governor John Hoeven to the newly created district court judgeship in the Northwest Judicial District, chambered in Minot. Cresap is a 1986 graduate of the UND School of Law.

Thomas Merrick
Class of 1983
Thomas Merrick, an attorney in Jamestown, has been appointed by Governor John Hoeven to the newly created district court judgeship in the Southeast Judicial District. Merrick is a 1983 graduate of the UND School of Law. He is the fifth member of his class to become a District Judge in North Dakota.

Class of 1986
Erik Askegaard, president of the law firm of Askegaard & Robinson, has been appointed by Governor Tim Pawlenty to fill a Ninth Judicial District trial court vacancy in Brainerd, MN. Askegaard is a 1986 graduate of the UND School of Law.
