Writing Samples

Writing samples may be required by an employer. They may want this sent with other application materials or brought to the interview to be reviewed and discussed. You should have some of your best written work available for this possible requirement. This sample should be from five to ten pages long. You can use a quality piece that was an assignment or a law review article. The employer is looking for legal research ability, analytical skill, and a clear, concise and accurate style. If the work is not entirely your own, give credit to the other authors and obtain their permission to use the sample. Clearly identify the sections of the piece that are yours.
